Harlem Diva Enjoys A Taste of Turkey....

Recently, i've been to some great restaurants, and i'd like to share my experiences. The first location I went to last weekend was an authentic Turkish restaurant right in the heart of Midtown East in Manhattan called "Sip Sak" on 49th and 2nd Avenue in Manhattan. The exact address is 928 2nd Avenue, New York, NY  10022.
The ambiance was nice, and the place had a family style dinner feel. It was very close knit, and I was a little overwhelmed by how attentive the wait staff was in taking my order. They made me feel comfortable and eager to order.

I started my meal off with an appetizer of  stuffed grape leaves, filled with rice, pine nuts and raisins, which were absolutely delicious. Afterwards, I continued my meal with my main entree, Grilled Shrimp with Rice Pilaf, Sauteed Red Cabbage, and Veggies. The main course was so delicious. The rice had distinctive lemon undertones that reminded me of a Greek style meal. I was informed by the waiter that many dishes served in Greek are Mediterranean style dishes which originated from Turkey.

Afterwards, I had Pistachio and nut Baklava, and some homemade Turkish Ice-cream that was amazing!

I definitely love the variety of tastes and textures in the food. I will definitely be going to this restaurant again!
